Rotary Club of Coimbatore Downtown is a young and vibrantRotaryClub based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. The Rotary Clubwasinitiated by Rotary Club of Coimbatore Midtown underthestewardship of Rtn.C.T.Thiagarajan. The club was chartered on19June 2012 and was inaugurated as the on 30 June 2012. RotaryClubof Coimbatore Downtown is in resonance with the Rotary beliefof"Bring Them Young". The club with 43 members has an average ageof36. Most of the Rotarians are former Rotaractors and they possessagood understanding of Rotary. In a short span of four yearstheclub has carved a niche for itself with its captivatingcamaraderieand soulful service projects. The club is abuzz withsports andfellowship which forms the heart of the club. Theheartbeat of theclub is its projects and the club has donecommendable serviceactivities under all avenues. Rtn.Santosh is theCharter Presidentof the Club and he nurtured the club, its imageand growth in theyear 2012 to 2013. Rtn.Godwin was the secondPresident of the clubin 2013 to 2014 and with every second, heensured that the club wassecond to none. Rtn.P.S.Prakash lighted upRotary in the year 2014to 2015 and gave the club new dimensions.Rtn.P.Vijayragahavan wasthe president for the year 2015 to 2016 andhe ensured that we hadfabulous 4 years. Rtn.N.S.R.Naarayanan willbe the 5th President,the President for Rotary year 2016 to 2017.Rotary Club ofCoimbatore Downtown is well known for its trafficawareness andmanagement programmes like "Helmet on Heads", "For theFollowers",and "Road Safety Awareness Week" etc. The club hasconstructed anddedicated Library Block and Toilet Block atPappampatti PanchayatUnion School. The club has organized periodicmedical camps andeducational scholarships for the benefit of thedowntrodden. RotaryClub of Coimbatore Downtown is renowned for itsVocational Awardstitled "GURUVANDANAM" and "iRISE". The VocationalTraining Centreof the Club at M/s Godwin Constructions trains civilengineeringstudents on building plan comprehension. With twoRotaract Clubs atKV Institute of Management Studies and SankaraCollege of Scienceand Commerce respectively and one Interact Clubat St FrancisSchool, the club is committed to serving the youth.One of thehighlights of Rotary Coimbatore Downtown is ourfriendship whichreflects in the success of our Rotary DowntownLeague, BachelorTrips, Family get Togethers etc. In short, RotaryClub ofCoimbatore Downtown is up and coming Rotary club inCoimbatore withyoung people, fresh ideas, great commitment and farreachingfriendship.
